Todd Burks
Platform Speaker at the Bill Glass (NFL) behind the walls Eastman Youth Detention Center for the Department of Juvenile Justice in Eastman, GA

Todd Burks

Todd Burks is a former NFL player, active businessman and public speaker involved in his community and national charity work.   Todd’s perseverance and determination earned him a shot in the NFL.  The legendary All-Pro Hall of Fame great Walter Payton realized Todd’s drive and athletic ability and endorsed him for a tryout with the Chicago Bears.

Burks was a defensive back at the University of New Haven and at the University of Central Florida, which is very telling of his athletic abilities and intelligence to play the game.  Burks was one of the most driven athletes of his generation earning high praise and several awards across various sports.  He was instrumental in helping his teammates elevate to new levels to the point he was inducted into his hometown Clarence High School Hall of Fame in Buffalo New York. Burks also played for the Canadian Football League, Ottawa Roughriders.  His last stop in his professional football career came with the former Miami Hooters and Florida Bobcats.

His first job after his career in football was in the classroom.  Todd naturally took the lessons he learned in athletics and teamwork into the classroom in Orlando, Florida.  Burks taught English and core curriculum to at risk children at XL Private Industry Council.  Todd also coached football at Colonial High School in Orlando in concert with his teaching career.

Throughout Todd’s career, he learned the value of sweat equity which helped him work his way to the medical field, with a focus on Multiple Sclerosis. Todd has done many fund raisers for Multiple Sclerosis and continues to be an integral part of the Atlanta community that raises money, awareness and education about the disease.

In his spare time he enjoys volunteering his time with the Woodstock Police Depart and riding with Officer Berry and Atticus of the K9 Unit.  He also takes great pride in working through the NFL with Crossroads Homeless Shelter for men, women, and children.

Burks has inspired many through his public speaking and continues to speak to corporations and schools in the Southeast. Burks is also known for his product endorsements and advertising throughout his athletic career.
